Article name change[edit source]

I think the title should be changed to something like "use of mercury in exotic propulsion technology" or "use of mercury in exotic technology". In part because I remember something about a specific kind of alleged device, possibly anti-gravity related, that would probably fit in this article, with two counter-rotating or magnetic field-generating drums, one of mercury, one of thorium, which makes me think mercury was one of several key components but not appropriate to say it was "based" on mercury. Although it's possible that not all of these might be exotic technology per se and also there's probably controversy on the definition of exotic technology. Another possibility is to just have a separate article.

By the way, I think this is an excellent and very fitting topic for an article. --EnWikiAdmin (talk) 07:37, 7 January 2025 (UTC)

Good point EnWikiAdmin. Possibly, I don't like the term 'exotic technology', to be honest, it's a bit vague and it gets even worse when it's extended to other things, such as 'exotic plants' which obviously usually means something entirely different, but I haven't got a better idea - maybe we should use the word 'fringe', in a non-insulting sense, although that doesn't work for everything either. What about 'Hypothetical uses of mercury in technology' or 'Uses of mercury in fringe technology'? Millipede (talk) 14:43, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
