Ikwipedia:Getting Started
This is an unofficial guide. It seems like, the admins are currently away, and I wanted to have something to point newcomers to so I wrote this based on what I know about how Ikwipedia works and conversations I've had with the admins in the past - some of it might change if the admins come back.
Finding information[edit source]
The search box is in the top right-hand corner. There's also an advanced search function and an index of all pages Special:AllPages.
Suggestions for pages[edit source]
If there's something you think it would be good to have a page about, but there isn't one, and you don't have any information to write a page about it yourself, you can add it to Ikwipedia:Suggested pages.
Editing articles[edit source]
Anyone can edit articles on Ikwipedia, as on Wikipedia. To edit an article, click the edit buttons and use either the source editor or the visual editor.
Creating new pages[edit source]
A quick way to create a new page is by searching for the name you want it to have - if it doesn't already exist, there will be a link to create it at the top of the search results. Red links indicate pages that don't exist, and clicking on a red link will take you to a page where you can create it.
If you don't think you can format things in the standard Wikipedia way, or write in the standard Wikipedia way, that's not a problem, just writing down what you've got is still useful. Somebody else can tidy it up later, if the information is legible. If you don't know how to do references in the standard Wikipedia way, writing down where you got the information as best you can is still useful.
Other information about using Ikwipedia[edit source]
Pages with 'Ikwipedia' at the start of their names have information about Ikwipedia Special:AllPages?namespace=4. Ikwipedia's policies are different from Wikipedia's, especially what subjects it has articles about and what it uses as sources, but it mostly uses the same programming, so if you want technical information about how the website works and it's not there, Wikipedia's help pages might be useful.
